Mamelodi Sundowns FC loses 2 Players In 20 Days

It is with sad news that Motjeka Madisha was reportedly dead in a motor vehicle accident on a sunday morning on the 12th of December 2020, just three weeks after another Sundowns player Anele Ngcongca lost his life in the same tragic manner.

Motjeka Madisha (born 12 January 1995) was a South African professional footballer who played as a defender for Mamelodi Sundowns. During his career, Motjeka Madisha was recognised as one of the best players for Mamelodi Sundowns.

He started his career at M Tigers FC in the year 2014-2015. After that he joined Highlands Park and played only one season. In 2016 he joined Mamelodi Sundowns FC and he was playing as defender. He has three consecutive champion titles, Belgium league winner as well as CAF Super Cup Winner.

Calvin Anele Ngcongca known as Anele Ngcongca (born 21 October 1987) died in a car crash on the 23rd of November 2020 on N2 outside Mtunzini on the KwaZulu-Natal North coast. Anele died at the age of 33 years leaving behind an adorable daughter Siphosethu Ngcongca who is 10 years of age.

Anele Ngcongca played as defender both on Sundowns and on the national team Bafana Bafana. According to the press it is said that Anele Ngcongca had been released to play for the AmaZulu FC.

In February 2020 Pisto spoke highly of these two players not knowing they will both die the same manner, in the same year.

The South African Players Union( SAFPU) joined the call for the PSL to postpone Sundowns next match and give the club time to mourn Madisha.On the same note the FIFA president Gianni Infantino also issued his condolences on the tragic passing of the Sundowns players.
