Luxury watches have been a staple in the world of celebrities for decades, and their allure only continues to grow. From the timeless Rolex Daytona to the modern innovation of Richard Mille, these exquisite timepieces are more than just accessories for the rich and famous; they are ultimate symbols of showmanship. As long as there are celebrities, there will always be a fascination with luxury watches, and we can’t wait to see which timepieces will capture the hearts of future generations of stars. Here, we explore the luxury watches currently beloved by our favorite celebs.
Here are five celebrities and their coveted luxury watches…
#1. Kevin Durant’s Audemars Piguet x 1017 Alyx 9SM Royal Oak
KD himself was spotted courtside at the ATP Citi CD Open with an incredibly unique ticker: an AP Royal Oak customized by luxury brand Alyx with a circular brushed metal face devoid of any numerals and a unique “rollercoaster” buckle. It is an “unofficial collab” (in that it was not authorized by Audemars Piguet). This particular watch, which is limited to 40 pieces, is only available to those who have achieved GOAT status.
#2. Roger Federer’s Rolex Daytona
Retired Swiss tennis star and legendary Rolex brand spokesperson, Roger Federer is always donning the newest and sexiest pieces from the Crown. This past June, during the 100th running of Le Mans, the new Cosmograph Daytona was spotted on the tennis star. As a commemorative item, this white gold, black-dialed chronograph has a modernized “Paul Newman” dial with stylized Arabic indices inside the totalizers and a scattering of red letters.
#3. Jay-Z’s Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman”
There are vintage, manually wound Rolex Daytonas and vintage, manually wound, “Paul Newman” Tiffany-signed Rolex Daytonas. Then there is the antique, hand-wound, Tiffany-signed, “Paul Newman” Rolex Daytona that belongs to none other than HOV himself, which is somewhere in the top reaches of horology.
#4. Shawn Mendes’s Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5186G
Canadian singer-songwriter, Shawn Mendes, who was on holiday in Ibiza, accomplished a feat of extraordinary sartorial engineering by matching the strap of his watch to the color of his khaki beach trunks. And since the Patek Philippe Aquanaut (ref. 5186G) was being worn on such a strap, we are forced to give the dude double-style points.
#5. Lionel Messi’s Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph Reference 5968G
Legendary soccer player, Lionel Messi is no stranger to a good watch. The Argentinian footballer was seen wearing a Patek Philippe Aquanaut chronograph reference 5968G with a midnight blue rubber factory strap last Wednesday, immediately before scoring another brace of excellent goals for Inter Miami CF. Although the Nautilus ref. 5711 is currently the talk of the watch world, our man in Miami is unquestionably ahead of the game, having acquired what is probably a cooler Patek: Aquanaut Chronograph Reference 5968G. The timepiece flaunts a single pusher press that will send the chronograph seconds hand “flying back” to the 12 o’clock position to start timing another event on this 42.2mm, white gold chronograph, which eliminates the need to stop it before resetting.
